What is MOS?

The Microsoft Office Specialist program is designed to measure a user’s skills in the Microsoft Office suite applications. Candidate’s skills are compared with the Microsoft proficiency standard to measure true Microsoft Office aptitude. Certification and training resources are available for Microsoft Office applications at multiple levels of proficiency.

What Levels of Certification are Available?

Microsoft Office Core Specialist

This level indicates that a user can perform a wide range of everyday desktop computing tasks with ease. Right-Track offers the Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook Core certification.

Microsoft Office Expert Specialist

This level indicates that a user can also perform more complex assignments that require advanced formatting and functionality. Right-Track offers this certification for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

Microsoft Office Master Certificate

This is the highest level currently available and indicates that a user has attained Expert Specialist status in each of the four (4) core Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook). Expert status shows that a user has passed the Microsoft Office Integration exam, demonstrating an ability to combine various applications within the desktop.

How Do I Benefit from the
Microsoft Office Specialist Program?

MOS demonstrates employee competency and helps with both job placement and advancement. Hiring specialist reduces the amount of training needed to bring new employees up to speed and contributes to the overall level of organizational effectiveness.

The specialist designation distinguishes an end user as truly knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office products. Upon proving their skills against the Microsoft Office proficiency standard, users ultimately become more competitive in a tight job market.

How Do I Qualify?

The Microsoft Office Specialist program requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows. Right-Track offers an introduction to Microsoft Windows class to ensure candidates meet the MOS prerequisite requirement.
